I AM NOT WHO YOU THINK I AM

I often meet people who have a GAP between their abilities and their sense of self-worth.
.
Their ability is not an issue - they are talented and intelligent enough to do great things.
.
There is, however, one problem.
.
While these people have great aspirations, they fail to live up to their full potential because of a lack of SELF CONFIDENCE.

Self-image is the mental picture we have of ourselves, and it greatly influences our behavior.
.
The self-image we have of ourselves defines what roles we take on in life and how well we do them.
.

Charles Cooley, an American sociologist, said:
“𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐈 𝐚𝐦;
𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐈 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐈 𝐚𝐦;
𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐈 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐈 𝐚𝐦“.
.

The way we see ourselves is influenced by the way we interpret the world around us.
.
As it turns out, there is often a gap between our abilities and the image we have built of ourselves.
.
The fact is, people can be their own worst enemies, sabotaging their own success.
.
Boosting your self-esteem can be a tricky thing.
.

Here are some tips you can use to do it:
.

🔷 Take small steps in the direction you're striving for.

This helps you feel like you're making progress, even if it seems like there's still a long way to go.
.

🔷 Decide where you want to go, then plan the steps you need to take to achieve that goal.

Clarity and order make the biggest difference.
.

🔷 Be brave and talk to family and friends who you trust, even if it means stepping out of your comfort zone!

Being honest with people who care about us helps us feel more supported. Having someone else's perspective can help us see things differently and make more informed decisions about what might work best for us.
.

🔷 Train your brain to focus on the positive things that happened; focus on the good results.

This will help strengthen your confidence and make it easier for you to keep going toward your goals.
